Last week I shared a bunch of chunky knit hat patterns, but just so I don’t leave my hookers out of the loop, here’s a great group of winter beanies (toques for us Canadians) for you to start working on. Hats make great handmade gifts because they work up quickly and usually take just one skein of yarn. And you have plenty of time before the busy gift-giving season to work up some of these gorgeous patterns!

The beautiful textured beanie, called The Tamarack Beanie comes out so warm and cozy! It’s the perfect winter hat to add texture and warmth to any outfit.
Update: this pattern is no longer available, but check out these Chunky Beanie Crochet Patterns for some nice substitutes.

The Ella Beanie is another lovely textured hat suitable for every day. It is crocheted using Aran wool, so it will keep you warm from icy winter winds. It comes in 7 different sizes, from newborn to adult, so you can easily make one of these lovely toques for the whole family! Mommy and me hats, here we come!
Update: this pattern is no longer available, but you can see a good selection of textured crocheted beanie patterns here.

Can you tell that I’m super into these textured toques with faux fur pompoms? There are so many options out there, including this lovely Maple Beanie Crochet Pattern with this sweet bobble stitch textured stripe.
Update: this pattern is no longer available, but check out these bobble beanie crochet patterns for some similar options.

Here’s another gorgeous textured crocheted beanie pattern for you, the Shell Super Chunky Winter Hat, with this lovely shell stitch pattern. Don’t you just love it in this gorgeous yellow! I’m so glad this colour is still on-trend; I love it so much!!!

The Alpine Beanie is another lovely textured crochet hat pattern. I love how it works up in a self-striping yarn. It looks like these are made with two yarns held together, so it’s a great way to incorporate a couple of different colours and a fantastic way to use up some worsted weight yarn!

The Brooklynn Cables Beanie is a fantastic cabled crochet beanie pattern. If you’re a crocheter and have always been a little jealous of the gorgeous cables on knitted items, well, here’s your pattern. The vertical stripes and the texture of this toque are just lovely!

If you have a little one on your make list, check out this adorable A Beary Cute Hat. It’s a quick and simple little pattern, with the addition of some super sweet little ears that would be just adorable on a new baby!

Of course, if you’re looking for something more basic, that you can put your own spin on, check out the Lincoln Park Beanie which includes 10 different sizes, using worsted weight yarn. This is a great pattern if you’re just learning to crochet or if you’re just starting to get into garments!
I hope you enjoy all these lovely cozy crocheted hat patterns, just in time to make them up for the toque/beanie season ahead (sweater weather, sure, but hats? definitely.) Pick up a pattern and start crocheting today or pin it for later!
