Yesterday was a perfect summer day in Edmonton. A perfect day to spend outdoors in the garden! It was super calm and sunny, hardly any mosquitoes. I finally got to replacing the wood chips around my garden, which pretty much took the entire (work) day. It feels good to have that done and it was glorious to spend the day outside since I’ve been spending so many of my days indoors due to the rain, as well as working and working on our house! After I had finished working and took a lovely bath, I spent part of the evening sitting on our deck, enjoying a drink, some chill music and some knitting. So, I decided to collect a bunch of patterns for you to consider making this summer, for chill evenings on the deck, and relaxing mornings with a coffee.

Last night, I was actually working on this cute little Pin Me Up Headband from Knitatude. This is one of her patterns that are free on her blog; it’s a pretty quick knit (though not as quick if you modify it to use sock-weight yarn, like I did-haha) and uses up smaller bits of yarn, which I love!
Chantal has also just released her new Tulip Wrap Tank Knitting Pattern which is an intermediate knit wrap tank top pattern that is written in 9 sizes (up to 5 XL)! I’m so pleased to see pattern designers include more sizes in their patterns. All bodies deserve cute hand-knit items; I’m so proud of the efforts that Chantal and other designers have made to increase their size offerings and make hand-knit patterns more accessible to more people. Using worsted weight yarn, this pattern is also size-inclusive in 9 sizes all the way up to 5XL! This is a beginner level pattern and if you check out her Etsy listing, she has included a way to get the pattern for free on her blog.
