How stunning would this Study in Circles Table Runner look on your mom’s coffee table (or your own: gorgeous!)? This crochet pattern from Whitty Creation Studio is a modern twist on old-fashioned doilies connected together as table cloths and wall hangings. I love the natural colour chosen here; it would look so pretty on any table.

This Boho Sun Cross Stitch Pattern from Terra Stitch is so fun and sunshiney! I love this 70s vibe. Maybe your mom is over the 70s, but I’m a mom and I would be delighted to receive this little piece of art!

This pretty Winter Rose Embroidery Pattern from Florals and Floss might be more your mom’s style. Florals and Floss also has great embroidery kits if you’re just getting started or you don’t want to shop around for all the different colours of floss you don’t have. I have purchased two of her kits and her instructions are great and the kits are so beautifully packaged. If you live in Edmonton, you can pick it up for free (and usually the next day!)

These gorgeous Wildflowers on Transparent Background embroidery kits from 55 Tree are just incredible, aren’t they? I am seriously considering making some of these for decorating our family room when we’re finally done renovating? (Did I mention we’re renovating again, soon? Well, that is the plan, anyway.)

Or you could make your mom a squishy, Chunky Bobble Crochet Pillow with this pattern by my friend Candace at Hello Wildflower Co. This pattern crochets up quickly with super fluffy chenille yarn. While it is an intermediate pattern, if you have the basics of crochet and can follow a pattern, the new stitches are pretty easy to learn and there are great tutorials online to learn: just Google it!

It might be a bit late for you to get this stunning Gaudi Sidewalk Crochet Blanket Pattern from Briana K Designs made by Mother’s Day, but I just had to share it here. Isn’t it incredible? I love the intricate tile-inspired pieces. You could easily match this to your mom’s decor by choosing a matching colour for the border and joining yarn.

A project like this Sunrise Jute Half Circle Rug Pattern from Vanilla Tuesday might be more reasonably completed by Mother’s Day. This is a beginner-friendly crochet pattern using simple stitches and makes for a chic minimalist design. Using jute makes it an environmentally-friendly piece that can be used indoors or outdoors. The fringed border adds just the right amount of personality!

Perhaps your mom would love a new handbag for the summer season ahead? Make her this Crocheted Boho Purse pattern from Nattochka’s Etsy Shop. I love this look; perfect for markets and festivals. This pattern comes with 55 pages of detailed instructions to make this lovely bag. The pattern is suitable for a more experienced crocheter and I am so intrigued. This is definitely on my Favourites list (but selfishly so: I’m not sure this is quite my mom’s style).

Flower are always a nice idea on Mother’s Day, but what about making an adorable little plant that needs no care and never dies? Some moms just don’t have that green thumb, so perhaps this happy little Crocheted Sunflower in Pot Amigurumi Pattern from Juliia Pyha is just the thing your mom would love! This is a great gift idea if your mom has pets that love to dig in the plants or if she likes to travel for long periods of time!

This adorable little Realistic Shihtzu Amigurumi Dog Pattern from Aleksandra Olga Style is a super sweet little stuffed toy crochet pattern that would be perfect to make to pay homage to a dog that has passed away or maybe if your mom is in a place where pets are not allowed. Handmade by you makes it just so special and a constant reminder of how much you love her.

Perhaps your mom would love a handknit summer tank top? This lovely Savannah Cool Knit Tank Top Pattern from Disturbing the Fleece is such a pretty and practical wardrobe addition. I love it when I can knit pieces that I (or someone else) will actually wear and this piece looks so versatile. Throw a denim jacket over it for a casual spring outing or a blazer for the office. This pattern calls for 100% silk yarn, which has such a gorgeous drape and feels light and luxurious!
I hope you found some inspiration of a handmade gift you can make for your mom this year. If you don’t get it made in time for Mother’s Day, just keep working and give it to her for Christmas! Pick up a pattern today and get making… or pin it for later!
